Life is like a...

One day, when I was helping put up the random topic boards on the back of the class with double sided tape, De Ming came to me. Professor Dr.Mr. De Ming M.D. PhD MA ABC started saying something random as:
"Life is like a..."
While holding a roll of double sided tape, I replied:
"...double sided tape..."
"because it looks like it has one side, but when you open it up, it is..."
Both together:
"Double Sided."
"Hahaha"
"De Ming, do you plan to be a philosopher?"
"What la we all...."
"Give us anything we can connect it to the meaning of life..."*waves his hand infront like a wise man*
If you are like De Ming or me, you would understand this.

But anyway, we started just saying randomly "Life is like a.....[random object from classroom]".
Here's some of the ideas we came up with:

Life is like a calculator, because you may try to find the answer but sometimes its just not correct. Thats why you try to find for the User's Instructions Manual.

Is your life a syntax error?

Life is like a calculator, because you may choose to decorate it however you like.

Does your school calculator look like this?** Hint to all those who draw/sticker/decorate their calculators

Life is like a pencil, because when it is broken all you have to do is sharpen it again.

Tools
All you have to do is get a sharpener

Life is like a speaker, because it sometimes produces sounds although you dont want to hear it.

Speaker

Life is like a blackboard, because although it starts as one colour, you can choose to draw anything on it with any colour.

Life is like a tie, because you can tie it whatever way you want it. But all time time people choose to tie it one way and with the same basic style as everyone else.

How do you choose to tie your tie?

Seafield and the Taekwondo Storeroom of Secrets

Okay, today I did a something wouldnt normally do:

I cleaned a storeroom!

Plus, its no ordinary storeroom with brooms, paint, and a flickering light bulb. It was the Seafield TaeKwonDo storeroom! This storeroom has a aura of mystery surrounding it. I until very recently have never seen it opened for the 5 years i have been in Seafield. And since Form 1 the Taekwondo Instructor said that they once upon a time, they used the store, but then it got very dirty and nobody has used or cleaned it for a while. That would mean, it hasnt been used or probably not even opened for awhile even before I was Form 1 until today.

You see, the Seafield TaeKwonDo storeroom, is one of those rooms comparable to Harry Potter's Chamber of Secrets. Its there, but not many people know it exist, and of those who know, even less have keys to the locks, and for very few who have access, none have entered....until now!

Ill skip the part where we had to wait for De Ming to come back from teaching USJ2, and the part where he found out that he didnt bring one key, and the part where we waited for him. It went something like this:

"Wheres De Ming? Only he got the key you know?"
"I dunno, Sir Arul never answer phone."
"Then we wait lor."
[After waiting.....finally De Ming arrives]
"De Ming, finally you are here! Okay lets start cleaning"
"Eh, I forgot the grill key..."
"Ohhhhhhhh...."
[More waiting]

So long story short, when we started cleaning straight away, but as soon as we opened the store room some people were just not prepared for the horrow that lie within. Among the comments were:

"Eeeeee, got rat inside one ah?!"
"Eh serious ah?"
[looks further into store]
"Aiyoooo, whats that!?"
"Eh, the pad moudly la"
"Okay la, we shift the things out"
Ahhhh, dont wasnt to go inside la...
"Eh, you go in and sweep, we just stand outside here okay?"
"Wah, sooooo dusty wan?"
"Why I keep sweeping still got dust one?"
"I think that looks like bat shit"
"You know, i think tadpoles died in this pail"

Awhile into cleaning, Xia Shuen came to us with the "What are you guys doing?" look. I mean it looked weird cause we suddenly opened a grill nobody opens, and unluck a door with 2 padlocks, start throwing taekwondo apparatus out, and not to mention, there was a a few weird things in the store including:

  • Garden hose (not real picture)

  • Mysterious Water-pressure gun thingy (not real picture, but looks like what we found)

  • Rusty Hammer

  • Mouldy taekwondo pads (i know the picture is not a taekwondo pad , but some parts of it looks like the picture)

  • Car Washing Liquid
  • Dusty Sponges
  • Boxes of Wood
  • Dumbells (the Gardener wanted those, guess the next time you see the Seafield Gardener theyre gonna be real buffed up and toned)
We noticed rainwater could flow into the storeroom, and thus destroying all the stuff the Taekwondo Club is gonna keeep inside. We wondered if we could close the gap in the wall with the boxes of wood. On closer inspection we discovered something which intruigued me very much.

The gap in the wall seems to have remnants of double sided tape on it, and a flap of black plastic. In the boxes of wood was also and piece of wood, stuck together with what seems like the same double sided tape. Even more interesting, we found a partial contruction made of wood, closing the gap between the wall and the stairs, although it only has one remaining section like the step of a stair. This wooden strusture was nailed to the wall, and in the boxes of wood we found nails, big nails which seem like they were ment to punch into cement walls. The gap between the door to the floor, was also boarded up and nailed.

It seems, previously, loooooooong before I was in Seafield, some people were doing the very same thing i was doing right now: trying to stop rain water from seeping into the room. And here I was, long after they left school, looking at theyre hard work, trying to replicate what they did. They where probably taekwondo members too, and who knows, probably they stayed back at school like us to clean up the store. Perhaps, they were thinking the very same things as we did as we cleaned the store.

Interesting facts aside, we decided to make raised platforms instead so we could stack the taekwondo stuff on top of it so it would rest above the rain water. After all, we had wood, hammers, and nails. This is where i should have been more carefull:

whack!
nail digs in
whack!
nail nudges in
whack!
nail goes in abit
whack!
nail goes in abit more
whack!
My own thumb gets hammered..

So I was actually typing this with 9 fingers. At least it only my left thumb, because i still need my right hand for the coming exams. Its just abit sore, swollen, and bruised. Peiqi says my thumbnail will drop off. I hope not, never had a fingernail drop out before. *crosses fingers and thumbs*

A-Waitings

A-Waitings

As i type this , i am waiting for several things at the same time.I am waiting, waiting for myself to make a decision, waiting for some sign, waiting for an answer, waiting for someone to ask me to stop waiting.

Woops! Sorry for the random attempt to sound deep and wise. I am actually also waiting for the pics of Chinese New Year to be sent to me by my relatives.(Don't they realise i want the photos too?) Secondly, im waiting for some YouTube videos to load. Oh, and my mum is waiting too, waiting for me to start studying.....

Damn! Exams are actually in 2 weeks! What the hell... and as i type this, it crawls down to 1 1/2 weeks away. Eventhough i realised this, I keep delaying, keep waiting for something to knock me to my senses. Im sure somewhere in a dark and creepy office, a certain teacher is waiting to unleash his/her set of sadistic, cruel questions unto unwary students. And what do we all do? We wait.....

Well, what should i be doing? Practicing Physics? Brushing up on Biology? Checking my Chemistry facts? Waiting for some answers? I might not realise it know, but I am quite sure if i continue waiting, ill regret it someday. Just wait and see.

P.S. Actually I hope I wont regret it.
Off-topic note: This has nothing to do with the movie "They Wait" which I watched some time ago. If you want a review from me, you'll have to wait.
